A Trip to Kodaikanal-Day1
We decided to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. So we planned a quick trip to Kodaikanal on 11 and 12th april 2015. This is my first time visiting kodaikanal. It was a 2 days trip. I thought I could review the hotel we stayed and the good food outlets. May be this could be tiny trip advisor if your travelling with a 3 year old like me.
We drove from Coimbatore to Kodaikanal. The route was Coimbatore-Palani-Dharapuram-Kodaikanal. It is a 5 hour journey. We left at 5 30 am in the morning and by 7 30 we reached Palani. My little one was awake by then and was hungry so we had our breakfast at the Arya Bhavan there. (I forgot to click the hotel and the palani Murugan Tample with Winge)
Day 1:
We reached Kodaikanal at 10 15 am and checked in at the Silver Spring Hotel (Review Here). We refreshed and started with the Pine forest. The climate was so nice and pleasant. But not as cold demanding sweaters and scarfs.
We relished some steaming corns and clicked some pictures and went to the pillar rocks.
It is a great view. Then to the place shown below. I never knew the name of this place. It was good. A little chill with a tiny park and a great view of the valley. The mists was so romantic.
We breaked for linch returned to our Hotel and we had lunch at Hill Top Restaurant.
A Tiny review: Too costly, Quantity too less, Very neat place, Safe for kids, Tasty food. No choice of soups but veg and non veg limited dishes were available. When we roam around in the cold climate, the first things we crave would be steaming hot chicken soup. We missed it out here.
Off to sleep, evening heavy rain so no outing just clinged to the room watching Ice Age 2.
Dinner at Al Baiq. Walkable distance from our hotel. We had steaming hot chicken soup, chicken grill, Noodles. we went there just to have soup as silver springs did not have these. A bit costly but neat place. More options on the menu card to try out. Highly recommend.
